Susanna Andersson

Susanna Andersson (born December 7, 1977 in Östersund , Sweden ) is a Swedish opera singer ( soprano ).

Life

Andersson studied at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London . She made her stage debut in Mozart's Don Giovanni in the role of Zerlina at the Grange Park Opera in Alresford ( City of Winchester ) in 2005 . From 2007 to 2009 she was a member of the Leipzig Opera ensemble . She sang at the Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires , at the English National Opera , the Opera North , the Garsington Opera , the Staatstheater Nürnberg , the National Theater Weimar , the Folkoperan in Stockholm , the Swedish Theater in Turku and the Danish National Opera in Aarhus .

She has given concerts with the pianist Eugene Asti at Carnegie Hall in New York , the Wiener Musikverein and the Amsterdam Concertgebouw and sang under the conductors Christopher Hogwood , Lawrence Foster , Roy Goodman , Andrew Manze and Ingo Metzmacher . Her contemporary repertoire includes works by Julian Anderson , George Benjamin , Oliver Knussen , György Ligeti , Luigi Nono , Siegfried Matthus and Wolfgang Rihm . She sang the world premieres of the works dedicated to her, Gaudete by the Scottish composer Stuart MacRae and Animal Songs by the Swedish composer Albert Schnelzer .
