Jade Louise Lally (* the 30th March 1987 in London as Jade Nicholls ) is a British discus thrower .

Athletic career

Jade Lally gained her first international experience at the U23 European Championships 2009 in Kaunas , where she won the bronze medal with a width of 54.44 m. The following year she took part for the first time for England at the Commonwealth Games in New Delhi and finished sixth with 57.62 m. In 2012 she was eliminated from the qualification at the European Championships in Helsinki with 51.75 m and two years later won the bronze medal at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow behind Australian Dani Stevens and Seema Antil from India with a throw at 60.48 m . In 2016 she improved the British record twice and qualified for the European Championships in Amsterdam , where she finished seventh with 60.29 m in the final. So she qualified for the first time for the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro , where she was eliminated in the preliminary round with 54.06 m .

In 2017 she took part in the World Championships in London , but could not qualify for the final there with 57.71 m . The following year she was seventh at the Commonwealth Games in the Australian Gold Coast with a throw of 53.97 m and reached eleventh place in the final at the European Championships in Berlin with 57.33 m.

In 2010 and 2013 as well as from 2015 to 2018 Lally was British champion in discus throw. She graduated from St Mary's University in London with a degree in physical education and physical education .
