Susanne Drexl

Susanne Drexl (* 1982 in Landsberg am Lech ) is a German opera singer ( mezzo-soprano ).

Life

At the Richard Strauss Conservatory in Munich she studied singing with Marilyn Schmiege and Donald Sulzen . There she passed her diploma examination with distinction. The artist then continued her studies at the University of Music and Theater in Munich with Daphne Evangelatos and Helmut Deutsch in the master class. In the 2007/08 season she made her debut at the Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz as Cherubino in The Marriage of Figaro . Furthermore, Susanne Drexl a. a. the Mercédés in Carmen , the Kate in The Pirates of Penzance and the Olga in The Merry Widow .

The mezzo-soprano has made guest appearances at the State Theater in Schwerin and at the Zurich Opera House . She has been a permanent member of the Magdeburg Theater ensemble since the 2010/11 season .

In addition to her stage presence, Susanne Drexl works as an oratorio and concert singer. Her repertoire includes works by Johann Sebastian Bach , Joseph Haydn , Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart , Georg Friedrich Händel , Franz Liszt , Gustav Mahler , Maurice Ravel etc.

The artist worked with the conductors Nello Santi , Markus Poschner , Marko Letonja , Ulrich Nicolai and others. a. the directors Alfred Kirchner , Holger Seitz , Arila Siegert , Wolf Busse and Florentine Klepper together.

Susanne Drexl is the first known stage interpreter of the 2nd tasting lady in Erich Wolfgang Korngold's only operetta: The silent serenade .
