Sven Pagel

Sven Pagel (born June 25, 1973 in Bonn ) is a German professor for business informatics and media management . His research focus is on digital moving image communication in internet media, UX and user research, and digital transformation. Pagel has been teaching at Mainz University of Applied Sciences since 2013 .

education and profession

After graduating from the Hardtberg High School in Bonn in 1992 , Pagel began studying business administration at the Justus Liebig University in Giessen with a focus on business informatics , controlling and international companies , which he graduated in 1998. At the same time he studied Business Organization at Heriot-Watt University Edinburgh from 1994 to 1995 and at the University of Montpellier from 1996 to 1997 .

After completing his studies, from 1998 Pagel worked as a consultant in the business administration department in the IT department of ZDF in Mainz . After 2 years he became a freelancer for the digital bouquet at ZDFvision and in 2002 switched to the online coordination of Südwestrundfunk in Mainz. He was also a freelancer in the multimedia service at ARTE in Strasbourg .

From 2000 to 2003 Pagel did his doctorate at the Institute for Journalism at the University of Dortmund under Jürgen Heinrich . In 2004 Pagel became professor for business administration, especially communication and multimedia at the University of Düsseldorf . Since 2013 he has been professor for business informatics and media management at the Mainz University of Applied Sciences .

Pagel is a member of the German Society for Journalism and Communication Studies and was deputy spokesman for the media economics department . He is involved in the television and cinema technology society , the university teachers' association and the alumni association of the German Business Foundation . He is a board member of the IT Klub Mainz & Rheinhessen.
