history

The Swiss Crown was in winter 1999/2000 at the Scheepswerf Grave in Grave built. The interior work was then carried out by the Scheepstimmerbedrijf Da-Capo in Hardinxveld-Giessendam . On April 5, 2000, the ship was christened in Koblenz by the German Princess Marie-Louise zu Schaumburg-Lippe. Until 2007 there was a time charter contract with Transocean Tours Touristik GmbH . She was then used by Phoenix Reisen until 2011 . Since 2012 she has been rented by various companies for individual trips or as a hotel ship. The ship was given a different color when the charter contract was changed.

On the night of September 18-19, 2019, the ship rammed the railway bridge in Konz above Trier . The roof of the wheelhouse was torn down and the upper deck was devastated. The cause of the accident was the wheelhouse that was not sufficiently lowered.

The Swiss Crown is a three- deck cabin ship in the 4-star plus category with 72 double cabins, three three-bed cabins and one single cabin. The cabins are air-conditioned and each equipped with a shower, toilet, television, telephone and safe. The cabins for the 36-person crew are located in the rear area of ​​the lower deck. The on-board power supply is ensured by two Caterpillar 3406 DIT diesel generators and a John Deere 6068 D emergency generator during travel and port operations .
