Szalaszend is a Hungarian community in the county Encs in Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén .
Geographical location
Szalaszend is located in northern Hungary , a good 40 kilometers northeast of Miskolc , on the small river Bélus-patak . Neighboring municipalities are Fulókércs and Méra . The nearest town, Encs, is six kilometers south of Szalaszend.
history
Szalaszend was created in 1936 by merging the municipalities of Szala, Alsószend and Felsőszend.
