The Best (also known as tATu The Best ) is the first and only compilation album of the Russian vocal duo tATu.In addition to the group's most successful hits, it also contains several remixes and previously unreleased material, as well as a live video on the DVD included in the special edition . Gig, several music videos and other extras. The best-of album was released in Europe, Canada, Argentina and the United States of America, among others. Although it was also released in Russia and Ukraine, it was tailored for the western music market. For example, only four of the songs included are sung in Russian, and one of them ( Ljudi Inwalidy ) is a remix version. In addition, the album does not contain the electro-pop-style versions of the songs Ja soschla s uma and Nas ne dogonjat, which are popular in Russia and Eastern Europe , but rather rock versions made for the English-language album 200 km / h in the Wrong Lane .
Publication and reception
The best-of album was released on September 4, 2006, first in Korea and Brazil, on September 11 in Europe (excluding Germany) and Russia, on September 27 in Japan, on September 29 in Germany and finally on October 10 in the United States of America. It was available as a single CD version, as a deluxe edition with DVD, and as a cassette, but in the latter form only in Ukraine. The only single that was released on November 22, 2006 was Loves Me Not . The song reached number 28 in the charts in Russia and was played more than 70,000 times by Russian radio stations in the 28 weeks of its chart performance. This is a relatively high number compared to other songs in this ranking.
Stephen Thomas Erlewine from allmusic.com gave the album four out of five possible stars and described it as "satisfactory". Erlewine wrote The Best containing all of the duo's big hits, but also some gap fillers. He complained that the best-of album was released too early because the band only had four studio albums to show at that time.
success
In Italy the album reached number 88 on the album charts and number two in Taiwan . The Best stayed briefly in the national charts in both countries . The album sold around 500,000 times worldwide.
