(2005)

tATu Remixes is the first remix album by the former Russian singing duo tATu from 2003. It contains a wealth of remixes for their albums 200 Po Wstretschnoi and 200 km / h in Wrong Lane , as well as one with Prostyje dvischenija until then song not released on an album. The remix album was released in several regionally different versions and was therefore as a single CD format (in Asia, Russia and Europe), double CD format (in Russia), as a double CD with an additional DVD (also in Russia), as well available as a cassette (in Taiwan).

A striking feature of the album is the incorrect spelling of the band name. On the album cover as well as on the track list and in the booklet, the last letter of the name tATu is not mirrored, as is usual with other publications by the duo.

Emergence

DJs from around the world, such as Sergei Galoyan , Alexei Scharkewitsch and Roman Penkow from Russia, Pako Aiala from Mexico and Dave Audé, Steve Miller and Richard Morel from the United States, were commissioned with the new mix of the songs and the creation of the remixes America .

In "Простые движения" ( Prostyje dwischenija - "Simple motions") and "Не верь, не бойся" ( Ne who, ne boisja - "Do not believe, do not fear") is not about remixes, but both songs were previously been published. So it was with Ne who, ne boisja to the song with the tATu at Euro Vision Song Contest 2003 had reached the third place in Riga, and Prostyje dwischenija already on 30 May 2002 and the accompanying music video were Moscow presented to a wide audience been. At that time, both songs were also placed in the Russian charts, and each reached number two. A new single release of the songs on CD, which had not yet taken place, was waived by the record label Universal Music Russia .

success

In Russia, the remix album received a gold record for over 150,000 copies sold, and also reached number two on the album charts. In Japan, the album entered the album charts at number 105 after its release and lasted for five weeks. 5,800 copies of tATu Remixes have been sold in South Korea .

criticism

The Russian music critic Rita Skiter from InterMedia wrote about the album that most of the remixes barely left anything from the original songs. The two pieces Prostyje dwischenija and Ne wer, ne boisja were rated as good by Skiter, and it is surprising that, despite the many scandals and problems within the band, two such good songs were still written. According to the music critic, Prostyje dwischenija and Ne wer, ne boisja could be tATu's last two big hits. tATu Remixes received an overall positive rating from Skiter: "The result not only satisfies fans of electro-pop, but also those tATu fans who want to own the last two songs of the group." Skiter spoke of "the last two songs of the group" , because at the time of their review they did not expect the duo to continue successfully, which had just separated from its manager and producer Iwan Nikolajewitsch Schapovalov and stopped recording the second Russian-language album.
