The BDZe 4/4 of the Transports publics de la région lausannoise (TL) were meter-gauge four - axle electric multiple units with second-class and luggage compartments for their overland route Lausanne - Moudon . In 1963 the railcars were taken over by the Trogenerbahn (TB) and designated there as BDe 4/4 5, 4, 3. In 1978 they came to Austria as ET 23,106 and 105 to the Traunseebahn operated by Stern & Hafferl . ET 105 will be part of the Association RétroBus Léman in 2016 .

In 1954/55 the Transports publics de la région lausannoise (TL) put the three BDZe 4/4 191–193 into operation for their overland route to Moudon. The light steel car body manufactured by the Ateliers de constructions mécaniques de Vevey (ACMV) was painted light blue / gray. The bogies have a Neidhart / Vevey rubber suspension system . The electrical equipment was supplied by Brown, Boveri & Cie. (BBC). The current collection was carried out as in trolley buses with a sanding pad pantograph , the regulation of the traction motor voltage electromagnetic contactors . The letter Z indicated that rail mail was also transported in the luggage compartment .

In 1957, the city of Lausanne decided to convert its last tram routes on bus, also wished the canton of Vaud to the same period the conversion leading to Moudon Jorat -line. On March 3, 1963, the three railcars ran for the last time on the Jorat line.

Trogenerbahn

Even before the TL operations were changed, the Trogenerbahn (TB) was able to acquire the three motor vehicles and three associated C4 163-165 passenger cars. The three railcars built for 750 volts DC voltage could be used without major changes on the 1000 volt TB and were given the designation BDe 4/4 and the numbers 5, 4 and 3. The TB adapted the vehicles to their standard components in 1964/65, in which she provided them with a pantograph and roof rod couplings , removed the driver's cab interior doors and the fog lamps and replaced the headlamps with headlights and the Westinghouse brake with the Charmilles pneumatic brake . With the commissioning of the BDe 4/4 3–5, part of the BDe 4/4 from 1903 could be discarded or placed in reserve.

1964 to 1968 the railcars received pneumatically operated rearview mirrors. In 1975 the BDe 4/4 5 was parked due to a defective bogie cradle and served as a spare part dispenser. The other two railcars were still in use until the BDe 4/8 24-25 was delivered in 1977.

Traunseebahn

ET 23.106 of the Traunseebahn

In 1978 the three railcars were sold to the Stern & Hafferl Verkehrsgesellschaft for the 750 volt electrified Traunseebahn Gmunden – Vorchdorf in the Salzkammergut. Car 5 came into operation there in September 1982 as ET 23.105 and number 4 in July 1984 as 23.106. They provided valuable services there until they were replaced by the new Tramlink low-floor trains in 2016 . ET 106 was then canceled and ET 105 handed over to the Association RétroBus Léman, which is committed to the preservation of old public transport vehicles in Lausanne, Geneva and the Vaudois Riviera .
