The TSC Backa Topola (officially on Serbian : ТСЦ Бачка Топола, Topolyai Sports Club Backa Topola  - TSC Backa Topola ), is a Serbian football club from Backa Topola . The club was founded in 1913 and has been playing in the Super Liga , the top division of Serbian football , since 2019 .

history

The first football club in Bačka Topola was formed in 1912 and was officially founded under the name Topolyai Sport Club . The club had renamed itself many times during its club history. In 1920 the name was changed from Topolyai Sport Club to JAK (Yugoslovenian Athletics Club ). After the World War, the club changed its name to Egység . In 1951 the name was changed to Topolya . During the Second World War , the club played in the second Hungarian football league. After the Second World War, the club played in the Subotica League and later in the Serbian League .

In 1974 the club merged with FK Panonija to form FK AIK Bačka Topola . The club recorded its greatest success in the 80s, where they played in the 2nd Yugoslav Football League from 1980 to 1984 and in the 1985/86 season . From 1986 to 1996 the club was third class. In 1999 they rose to the Serbian League and was back in third class. The club stayed there until 2003. At the end of the 2002/03 season, the club withdrew from the game due to financial problems. Only the junior teams continued to play in their respective leagues. In 2005 the club merged with FK Bajša and so the football club FK Bačka Topola was formed . The newly formed club took the place of FK Bajša, and started in the Vojvodian League (fourth division). In the 2010/11 season the club rose to the Srpska Liga Vojvodina and was back in the third division after 13 years. For the 100th anniversary of the club, the club was renamed TSC Bačka Topola , the name from the year it was founded. After only two seasons in the third division, the club was relegated again. In the 2014/15 season they rose again. After the two first-placed FK Bratstvo 1946 and FK Omladinac renounced promotion at the end of the 2016/17 season , TSC Bačka Topola moved in third place in the Prva Liga , as a promoted team. In the debut season as a second division team, they took fourth place in the 2017/18 season.

The club announced major investments, especially from the Hungarian football association MLSZ . The investments relate to the construction and furnishing of the stadium, the stabilization of the team, the construction of the academy and many other contents aimed at improving the work in Bačka Topola.

The team played in the top division for the first time in the 2019/20 season and qualified with 4th place for the 2020/21 UEFA Europa League .
