TV total Quizboxen was a show that was first broadcast on October 18, 2012 as part of TV total . The show was a mixture of sports ( boxing ) and quizzes . Stefan Raab , who also led the quiz, was the moderator . Five judges sat at the boxing ring, and one referee led the boxing rounds. Frank Buschmann was the commentator .
General
Ten rounds were played, each lasting two minutes. Boxing and quizzes took turns. Boxing was done according to amateur rules and points were collected in the form of hits. Head and body hits boxed from the front were counted if at least three of the five judges registered the same hit. If the referee gave a warning, the opponent received one point. Whoever could collect more hits by the end of the round won them. A candidate could always knockout. Walk, the opponents would have won the duel immediately. In the quiz, in which there was a buzz , there was one point for each correct answer; if the answer was wrong, the opponent received the point. The candidate with the most points at the end of the round wins it. There was also a knockout in the quiz: If one of the candidates did not get a point during a quiz round, he was asked a knockout question that he had to answer. If he answered too late or incorrectly, the opponent would have won the duel immediately. If there was a tie at the end of a round, the round was divided. In the end, the candidate who won the most rounds won the duel; if there was a tie, the candidate with the highest total number of points won. Since a duel could always end with a knockout, a candidate did not automatically win if, after the number of rounds, he could no longer be overtaken, i.e. H. a duel always went the full distance without a knockout.
There were three fights per broadcast, one each in light, medium and heavyweight. The winner of a duel received € 25,000 and appeared again as defending champion of the “World Quizboxing Association” (WQBA) founded by Raab in the next broadcast in the same weight class. If a candidate won four times in a row (total prize money: € 100,000), they became Superchamp and could win an additional € 100,000 with a fifth win. The second edition of TV total Quizboxen took place on November 29, 2012, with all three winners of the first show winning again and thus defending their titles.
