Routes
The usual ascent is from the south, where the Flaggerschartenhütte (also Marburger Hütte, 2481 m slm ) offers itself as a base. The Flaggerscharte near the hut can be reached either from the west, from Lake Durnholz , in about 2½ to 3 hours, or from the east from Mittewald through the Flaggertal in about 5 hours. From the hut, the marked trail leads northwards, with a short, secured descent through a rock face to be mastered soon. The path continues, initially almost flat, crossing the southern flank towards the mountain. Then it goes quite steeply up to the east ridge and over this to the summit. The ascent from the Flaggerschartenhütte takes 1½ hours.
Alternatively, the mountain can also be reached from Asten in the upper Sarntal via the Traminscharte ( 2380 m slm ) and the rather steep north-west ridge ( difficulty level I ).
