The Tago Mountain Range (also Mount Tago Range ) is a mountain range in the Philippines . It is located in the northern center of Mindanao Island and includes areas in the highlands of Bukidnon Province , northeast of the Mount Kitanglad Range .
The Tago mountain range is the headwaters of the Tagoloan River and the largest river on Mindanao Island, the Pulangi . The highest mountain in the range is the Tago, which reaches a height of approx. 2,093 meters, according to other sources 2,112 meters above sea level. Other mountains in this mountain range are the Ananaso (1,824 meters) and the Soldab (1,357 meters).
The mountains are covered by a closed rainforest , with a wide variety of flora and fauna. The mountains are an important refuge for the Philippines eagle ( Pithecophaga jefferyi ). The tribes of the Higaonon and Dumagat live in the mountains, neither do any slash and burn , which means that the pressure on the flora and fauna in the rainforest is lower than in other areas.
