The Pocdol Mountains , also known as the Bacon Manito Complex , are a mountain range on the island of Luzon in the Philippines . The Pocdol Mountains are a volcanic complex that covers an area of 225 km² in the Bicol region . The triangular-shaped mountain range lies between the Bay of Sorsogon and the Gulf of Albay in the southeast of the Mayon . The volcanic cones in the western part are eroded and older than the volcanic cones in the east, these are geomorphologically more recent.
The age of the last eruption in the volcanic complex of the Pocdol Mountains is not known because there is no corresponding data collection. However, a field of fumaroles and a geyser exist near the center of the volcanic complex jutting out from the plain.
In the Pocdol Mountains, the geothermal power plants Bacon-Manito I and II use the geothermal springs. Together they generate 150 MW of electricity. The small mountain range is under nature protection as PNOC-ECOPARK, which was established by the municipality of Sorsogon City on an area of 25,100 hectares. Attractions include the Botong twin waterfalls.
