The Caraballo Mountains ( Spanish Monte Caraballo or Sierra de Caraballo ) are a mountain range in the Philippines . It is located in the central northern region of the island of Luzon and includes areas of the provinces of Nueva Vizcaya and Quirino . It forms the central mountain node of the island and reaches a height of approx. 1680 meters above sea level.

The Caraballoberge form the watershed between the Cagayan and the Pampanga , the main source of which is in this mountain range. In the south of the mountain range is one of the largest reservoirs in the Philippines, the Pantabangan Reservoir . The Caraballoberg Mountains are largely forested, very original and only sparsely populated.

The Marhalika Highway crosses the mountain range in the northwest, but the area is very remote. The important pilgrimage center Station of the Cross is located in Bangan Hill National Park , in the north of the mountains.
