Quirino is a province in the Cagayan Valley region on the island of Luzon in the Philippines .

To the southeast of Quirino is the province of Aurora , to the west Nueva Vizcaya and to the north Isabela . The capital is Cabarroguis . The topography of the province is dominated by the Sierra Madre in the north and the Caraballo Mountains in the southern part .
history
The province was named after Elpidio Quirino , the sixth president of the Philippines. It was once part of Nueva Vizcaya until it was separated on June 18, 1966. The Ilokano and Tagalog languages are spoken in the area. 188,991 people live in the 2323.47 km² province (census August 1, 2015).
