Taisto Mäki
Taisto Armas Mäki (born December 2, 1910 in Rekola , Helsinki , † May 1, 1979 in Helsinki ) was a Finnish long-distance runner who was successful in the late 1930s.
career
The extroverted and talkative athlete was one of many whose athletic development was ruined by the Second World War . Shortly before, however, he set four world records and won a European championship in 1938 . He was the first runner to break the 30-minute sound barrier over 10,000 meters .
Taisto Mäki was 1.73 m tall and 64 kg.
