Ilias Fifa (born May 16, 1989 in Tangier ) is a Morocco- born athlete who runs middle distance and long distance .
After he came to Spain hidden under a truck nine years earlier , he has started for Spain since his naturalization on July 22, 2015.
Athletic career
In 2015 Ilias Fifa qualified for the World Championships in Beijing , where he was eliminated in the preliminary round over 5000 meters . In 2016, Fifa became Spanish champions over 5000 meters and, in the absence of Mo Farah, European champions , relegating Richard Ringer to third in a photo finish. At the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro , he was eliminated again in the preliminary round . He also took part in the World Championships in London in 2017 and did not qualify for the final this time either .
doping
At the end of October 2017, Fifa was arrested in a doping raid near Barcelona. In addition to him, according to the Catalan Court of Justice, there have been other arrests "for crimes against public health and the use of drugs with serious health risks", based on police investigations since June 2017. Fifa was banned for four years by the Spanish anti-doping agency Agencia Española de Protección de la Salud en el Deporte (AEPSAD) in May 2018 .

From 2008 to 2011 Fifa started for the Agrupació Atlètica Catalunya (AA Catalunya), since 2012 for FC Barcelona .
