Tatárszentgyörgy is a Hungarian municipality in Pest County . It is located around 50 kilometers southeast of Budapest .
geography
Geographical location
The place is in the area between the Danube and Tisza on a sand ridge. The surrounding landscape is characterized by poplars , pines and junipers . Typical birds as well as insects are at home here.
history
The community was mentioned in a document in 1508, but it is much older, which is impressively documented by archaeological finds from the Avar period and from the conquest.
Buildings
In the garden of the church of Tatárszentgyörgy you can see a stone pillar that József Liebner is said to have made in memory of the army of Prince Rákóczi (who camped in the village in 1710).
