Tatiana Dmitrijewna Kuznetsova ( Russian Татьяна Дмитриевна Кузнецова ; born July 14, 1941 in Gorky ; † August 28, 2018 ) was a Soviet aspirant cosmonaut .

Life

After secondary school (graduation in 1958) and typewriter and shorthand courses (1959), Kuznetsova worked at the research institute NII-35 of the Ministry of Electronics Industry of the USSR in Moscow, first as a stenographer, then Komsomol secretary (1960–1961) and head laboratory assistant (1961–1961). 1962). Since 1959 she was active in the 1st Moscow Aeroclub and since 1961 she was the absolute Moscow champion in skydiving . She won the all-Russian competitions. She joined the USSR national parachute team in 1961 and completed more than 250 parachute jumps by March 1962.

On March 10, 1962, Kuznetsova was drafted into the Soviet Army . On March 12, 1962, she was admitted to the Yuri Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center for cosmonaut training . After passing the exam in January 1965, she was a cosmonaut of the 2nd season. From May to November 1965 she was prepared for the second pilot of the second team (together with Shanna Dmitrijewna Jorkina ) for the 10 to 15 day flight in the spaceship Voschod . From January to May 1966 she was prepared for the 15 to 20 day flight. However, the Vozhod program was canceled so that the flight no longer took place. In addition to the cosmonaut training she studied at the engineer - Faculty of Military Academy of Engineers of the Air Force "Prof. NJ Schukowski ” with a degree as a pilot cosmonaut engineer (1964–1969). On October 1, 1969, she was released from the cosmonaut squadron due to the dissolution of the cosmonaut group. Kuznetsova now served in armaments offices of the air forces of the Soviet Union .

When the idea of ​​the women's flight was revived in 1978, Kuznetsova received approval for special training after being examined by the medical commission. On March 20, 1979, she became chief engineer in the 3rd administrative department of the cosmonaut training center and a research assistant in the 4th laboratory for radiation protection . On January 29, 1982, she became head of the 4th Laboratory. On May 14, 1984 she was promoted to Colonel in the Air Force. She retired on April 6, 1991.

Kuznetsova was married to the engineer Lado Vladimirovich Pizchelauri, who had applied to be a cosmonaut in vain in 1965. Her son Vladimir became a programmer at Microsoft in the USA .
