Tatyana Nikitichna Sevryukova ( Russian : Татьяна Никитична Севрюкова; born June 30, 1917 in Tashkent ; † 1982 ) was a Soviet athlete . The best female shot putter of the 1940s was European champion in 1946.

Sevryukova won the Soviet championships in the shot put in 1939 and 1940. After a break due to the war, she won further championship titles from 1944 to 1947. In October 1945 she exceeded the world record set by Gisela Mauermayer in 1934 with 14.51 meters and - five days later - with 14.89 meters in Frunze . Since the Soviet Union was not yet a member of the IAAF world association in 1945 , neither achievement was recognized as a world record.

The Soviet Union first took part in the European Championships in Oslo in 1946 . Sevryukova won the shot put with 14.18 meters ahead of the French Micheline Ostermeyer with 12.84 meters. In the discus throw Sewrjukowa finished sixth with 34.05 meters.

The Soviet Union did not take part in the 1948 Olympic Games in London. There Ostermeyer won on August 4, 1948 with 13.75 meters. On the same day Sevryukova hit 14.59 meters in Moscow's Dynamo Stadium . This achievement was recognized as a world record.

Sevryukova was able to place in front of Soviet championships until 1953, but she won no more titles and also no longer took part in international championships. In 1952, at 14.92 meters, it even exceeded its unrecognized world record from 1945 by three centimeters. Nevertheless, she was not nominated for the Olympic Games in 1952 . Galina Sybina won gold in Helsinki with a world record of 15.28 meters, the other two representatives of the Soviet Union took third place ( Klawdija Tochonova ) and fourth ( Tamara Tyschkewitsch ).
