Taxi Brooklyn is a French - US co-produced television series produced by EuropaCorp Television for TF1 and NBC . It comprises a season with twelve episodes. The German first broadcast started on November 7, 2014 on RTL Crime , the free TV broadcast started on June 25, 2015 on RTL .
It is loosely based on Luc Besson's taxi films and was conceived and produced by Gary Scott Thompson .
On March 6, 2015, it was announced that no second season of the series would be ordered.

When New York policewoman Caitlyn "Cat" Sullivan repeatedly caused heavy sheet metal damage in the pursuit of bank robbers, her supervisor initially revoked her driving license. From then on, the innocent involved in a bank robbery and therefore arrested by her French immigrant Leo Romba, an experienced taxi driver with a dark past, helps her as a daring driver and advisor in solving her cases. Against the will of her superior, she investigates, among other things, the murder of her father, who is also a police officer, and regularly receives clues via SMS from an unknown person.

Trivia
In 2004 there was an American-French remake of the taxi film series. In New York Taxi , Jennifer Esposito played a cop. She now plays a coroner in Taxi Brooklyn.
