Bill Heck (* 1978 in Phoenix , Arizona ) is an American actor .

life and career

Bill Heck is from Phoenix, Arizona. At the age of ten, his parents moved with him to Libertyville , a suburb of Chicago . There he attended and joined the school theater in Libertyville High School at a time when he was struggling with some difficulties due to loneliness and bad behavior.

After graduation studied at the University of Evansville in Indiana , which he graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts . This was followed by a Master of Fine Arts from the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University . Heck then appeared on the stages of New York's Off-Broadway and a few other local theaters before moving to Los Angeles on the West Coast for a few years . There he was able to be cast for various guest roles in US series, including Numbers - The Logic of Crime , Navy CIS , CSI: NY , The Closer , Medium - Nothing Remains Hidden , Without a Trace - disappeared without a trace and The Unit - It's a matter of honor . In 2009 he played a role in a film for the first time as Simon in Nonames .

After appearances in The Big C , Person of Interest and Elementary , she was cast for the minor role of a fighter pilot in The Amazing Spider-Man 2: Rise of Electro in 2014 . In the same year he played as agent Gregg James one of the leading roles in the series Taxi Brooklyn , which was discontinued after one season. He subsequently appeared in the series The Americans , The Leftovers , Mercy Street , Sleepy Hollow and The Alienist . In 2018 he took on a supporting role in the episode film The Ballad of Buster Scruggs directed by Ethan and Joel Coen as Billy Knapp alongside Zoe Kazan and Grainger Hines . In 2020 he took on a central role as Rendell Locke in the series Locke & Key .

Heck has been married to stage actress Maggie Lacey since 2011 , with whom he has at least one child. In parallel to his work in front of the camera, he continues to appear regularly in the theater, including starring in the musical Cabaret between 2014 and 2015 . In 2010 he was nominated for a Drama Desk Award for his role in The Orphans' Home Cycle .
