Taylan Oney

Hüseyin Taylan Öney (born August 5, 1947 in Istanbul ; † October 30, 2016 in Bremen ) was a German physician .

Life

After taking the matriculation examination at the German School Istanbul , he began his medical studies in 1966 at the Medical Faculty of the University of Istanbul , which he graduated in 1972. In 1974 Öney came to Germany for further training as a doctor for obstetrics and gynecology . The first stops here were Duisburg , Essen and finally the Bonn University Women's Clinic.

Öney's scientific studies on the influence of estradiol on renin activity and the concentrations of aldosterone and cortisol in the plasma of ovariectomized women as well as on the early detection and prevention of hypertensive complications in pregnancy (1983 book publication by Springer ) was followed by his doctorate in 1983 . In the same year his habilitation followed with the award of the Venia legendi .

After that he was employed as a senior physician until 1993 and later as a senior physician at the gynecological clinic in the Benjamin Franklin Clinic at the Free University of Berlin . In 1988 he was appointed adjunct professor .

From February 1993 until his retirement at the end of September 2011, Öney was the head physician at the Clinic for Gynecology and Obstetrics at the Bremen Clinic Links der Weser . The focus of his clinical work is on gynecological and oncological operations, urinary incontinence and lowering operations, and the care of high-risk pregnancies . He is currently working at the Gynaekologicum Bremen, a practice clinic specializing in gynecological-oncological diseases with an operational focus.

Taylan Öney was a member of the German-Turkish Medical Society and a founding member as well as Vice President of the German-Turkish Gynecological Society. Öney was also Associate Editor of the Journal of the Turkish-German Gynacological Association.

He was married from 1972.
