The Wiesenhof-Felt team was a German cycling team led by former professional cyclists Raphael Schweda and Jens Heppner .

history

The team was founded in 2006 and emerged from the merger of Team Akud Arnolds Sicherheit and Team Wiesenhof . Team operator was Cycling Sport GmbH, which previously ran Team Wiesenhof, Schweda and most of the sporting management came from Team Akud Arnold's Sicherheit. At the end of 2006 Akud got out as a sponsor. The wheel manufacturer Felt followed as a new co- and name sponsor.

The Wiesenhof-Felt team was the only German Professional Continental Team and in 2006 was able to take part in the German races Vattenfall-Cyclassics and Deutschland Tour, which are part of the UCI ProTour . In 2007 the team was invited to the two German ProTour races. In addition, she received wildcards for Gent – ​​Wevelgem , Amstel Gold Race , the Tour of Flanders and Paris – Roubaix for the 2007 season .

At the end of 2007, the Wiesenhof company ceased its involvement in professional cycling. The reason given was "the current framework conditions and developments in professional cycling" - the doping scandals Fuentes and Telekom at the time . Since no new sponsor was found, the team was disbanded in late 2007.

Olaf Pollack took the season's first win at Critérium International when he won the first stage. Shortly afterwards, Steffen Wesemann was able to set a small exclamation mark with a 16th place in the Tour of Flanders, which is part of the UCI ProTour . At Paris-Roubaix , the "Queen of the one-day classics", he was able to improve. In the toughest one-day race in the world, he was one of the assets and made it to the podium with his third place.
