André Schulze (born November 21, 1974 in Görlitz ) is a former German racing cyclist and sporting director of a cycling team .

Athletic career

André Schulze began his career in 2001 with Team Wiesenhof . In his first year he won the Schwenninger Radnacht and two stages on the Bałtyk-Karkonosze Tour . In 2003 he switched to Vermarc Sportswear , where he again won a stage in the Baltyk-Karkonosze Tour and later three stages in the Brandenburg Tour . In the 2004 season he drove for the GS III team VC Frankfurt-Brügelmann and won stages in the Tour of Greece, Tour of Japan, Tour of Tunisia and the eighth stage of the Tour of Qinghai Lake . In 2005 and 2006 he drove for the Sparkasse team and for the Lamonta team .

From the 2007 season he drove again for the Wiesenhof-Felt team , which meanwhile had a license as a Professional Continental Team . Here he achieved his greatest success to date with victory on the first stage of the Bayern Rundfahrt . After the dissolution of the Wiesenhof-Felt team , he switched to the Czech team PSK Whirlpool for the 2008 season , where he was able to achieve some successes by 2010, including a stage win on the Tour of Turkey . For the 2011 season he was then hired by the Polish Professional Continental Team CCC Polsat Polkowice , for which he won, among other things, the German one-day race Neuseen Classics - All about brown coal . In the 2012 season he drove for Team NetApp , won the Neuseen Classics - All about lignite, two stages of the Course de la Solidarité Olympique and finished 13th in the 2013 UCI Europe Tour annual ranking.

Schulze was then committed in the 2013 season by the Basque team Euskaltel Euskadi , who u. a. wanted to secure the license as a UCI ProTeam through this commitment and took part in the UCI WorldTour .

Professional

After this team disbanded at the end of the season, Schulze ended his racing career and returned to Team NetApp-Endura as sporting director. Schulze has been running a sportswear shop with a focus on cycling in Leipzig since 2013, together with Enrico Poitschke .
