history

In 1375 Temmen, today's Alt-Temmen, was first mentioned in a document as "Tempne". Temmen was a manor village whose owners changed several times in the Middle Ages. The name "Alt Temmen" has been passed down since the middle of the 18th century, when the Neu Temmen Vorwerk was laid out southeast of Alt-Temmen in 1743 . The owner Alexander von Arnim had a manor house built here in 1749. In 1775 Temmen counted 24 Büdner among the 87 inhabitants . The amalgamation of the places Alt-Temmen and Neu-Temmen to the municipality Temmen took place in 1928. In that year there were 191 inhabitants. On July 1, 1969, Poratz was incorporated into Temmen.

On December 31, 2001 Temmen and Ringenwalde merged to form the new municipality of Temmen-Ringenwalde.
