Terem Igobor Moffi (born May 25, 1999 ) is a Nigerian football player who is under contract with the Belgian first division club KV Kortrijk .

Club career

Terem Moffi grew up in Calabar and played in his youth for the selection of the Nigerian state Cross River , among others , before he moved to England at the age of 16 . There he attended Buckswood School in East Sussex and played in the school's football academy. Initially active in midfield , he was soon retrained as a striker . When one of the youth coaches switched to the Lithuanian first division club FK Kauno Žalgiris , Moffi also joined the club in August 2017. He made his debut on August 17, 2017 (22nd matchday) in a 2-0 home defeat against FC Stumbras when he came on for Edvinas Kloniunas in the 69th minute of the game . The young Nigerian quickly established himself as a regular player and on September 28 (26th matchday) he scored his first league goal in a 2-1 away defeat against FK Jonava . In this 2017 season , he played eight league games in which he scored a goal. After his club was relegated to the second highest Lithuanian league as bottom of the table , he left the club after five months at the end of the year and returned to his home country for the time being due to difficulties with his visa.

There he waited over eight months for a work permit in Lithuania and remained without a club until February 2019. It was only at this point that he was able to sign a contract with his new club, FK Riteriai . Already in his debut game in the 1: 2 away defeat against Sūduva Marijampolė on March 3 (1st matchday) he was able to score for the first time. He marked his first brace on matchday 4 in a 3-1 home win against FK Palanga . He quickly developed as a regular in the 2019 game year and became one of the league's most dangerous strikers. On September 25th (25th matchday) he managed a hat trick in a 3-1 away win against FK Palanga . At the end of the season he was after 29 league appearances in 20 league goals. He was behind the Croatian Tomislav Kiš (27 goals) in second place in the scorers list. At the end of 2019, he completed a one-week trial training session with the Belgian club Royal Excel Mouscron , but received no contract.

On January 8, 2020, the Belgian first division club KV Kortrijk signed Terem Moffi and provided him with a 3-1 / 2-year contract. He made his debut on January 18 (22nd matchday) in the 2-0 away defeat against VV St. Truiden when he was substituted on for his compatriot Imoh Ezekiel in the 65th minute . In the 2-2 draw against Club Bruges a week later, he scored for his new club for the first time. Until the end of the season due to the COVID-19 pandemic , Moffi had four goals in seven league games.
