Terrapin Station (Limited Edition) (sometimes Terrapin Limited ) is a live - triple album of the band Grateful Dead .

history

The songs on the album were recorded on March 15, 1990 in Capital Center in Landover, Maryland , and released in September 1997 on their own label, Grateful Dead Records .

The concert was the second of their tour along the east coast of the United States and took place on Phil Lesh's 50th birthday, who played the Bob Dylan song Just Like Tom Thumb's Blues from the album Highway 61 Revisited that evening . The song Easy to Love You, written by Brent Mydland , was also performed live for the first time in 10 years. A rare Beatles cover version of Revolution can also be heard on the album . The last time Revolution was played was 5 years ago.

The eponymous album Terrapin Station includes the eponymous song Terrapin Station as well as Samson and Delilah . From the previous album Built to Last , only the song I Will Take You Home found its way into the live repertoire . From the subsequent album Without a Net, however, the songs Walkin 'Blues , Althea , Cassidy and China Cat Sunflower were used. The main difference is that Built to Last is a studio album, but Without a Net is a live album, which was recorded during the previous tour and thus contains several songs from the band's typical live repertoire.

During the same tour, the album Dozin 'at the Knick was produced.

For Mydland it should be the last tour. He died of an overdose in June 1990.

The psychedelic artists Alton Kelley and Stanley Mouse were again responsible for the album cover .
