location

history

The place was probably founded in the 13th century, like other Stralsund city villages. There is evidence of a document which the knights Johann and Bertold Zitterpennick issued in 1303, in which Teschenhagen is mentioned.

Just like Andershof , Devin, Voigdehagen, Wendorf and Zitterpenningshagen, the farms and goods of the place were leased from the Stralsund monastery to the Holy Spirit over the centuries.

The history of the place is documented in the Stralsund city archive , many sources come from the monastery of the Holy Spirit . Care must be taken in the research, because many sources in the city archive refer to the Teschenhagen of the same name near Sehlen on the island of Rügen.

On May 25, 1303 the brothers Johann and Bertold von Zitterpennick sold the peat bog between Zitterpenningshagen and Teschenhagen to the St. Nicholas Church in Stralsund and a piece of field next to it to build a house and a watercourse over their field. About 18 years later, Prince Wizlaw III confirmed . the city of Stralsund their privileges and their possessions in the villages of Devin, Teschenhagen, Zitterpenningshagen, Voigdehagen, Wendorf, Lüdershagen, Vogelsang, Lüssow, Langendorf and Kedingshagen. The privileges are the same as in previous confirmations.

In the middle of the 15th century, on November 14th, 1450, Albrecht Harteger, a Stralsund councilor, sold the monastery Marienehe to the Cathaeus monks Mr. Thimoteus, (prior), Mr. Nicolaus, (vicar), and Mr. Hinricus, (Schaffer) near Rostock for 3300 marks sundisch and 25 shillings half of the village Devin in the parish of Voigdehagen and two farms in Teschenhagen, but the repurchase is conditional. In February 1570 the brothers Hans and Stefan Loitz brought a lawsuit against Gutzlaff Rotermundt and others because of their robbery raids on the villages of Curtshagen (now: Engelswacht), Ahrendsee , Brandshagen , Teschenhagen, Devin, Lüdershagen , Schmedshagen and Götemitz.

The Zipker dam was restored between 1721 and 1752, as were the paths in Brandshagen, Teschenhagen, Ahrendsee, Voigdehagen and a path to Barhöft Teschenhagen have always been shaped by agriculture and that has not changed to this day. The citizens of Teschenhagen went to church in Voigdehagen, were consecrated, married or buried there. The children from Teschenhagen went to the Deviner school, there was no school in Teschenhagen.

As described above, the Teschenhagen estate has been leased repeatedly over the centuries. It has not yet been clarified who was the last tenant.

After the Second World War, the goods in Teschenhagen are no longer administered by the Stralsund monastery of the Holy Spirit. The tenants who owned the land were expropriated in the course of the land reform in the Soviet occupation zone and the land was later given to the so-called agricultural production cooperatives. During the GDR era, the fields were cultivated by the LPG, nothing changed in the rural character of the place.

After the fall of the Wall, the Stralsund bypass was built, which also runs near Teschenhagen. On October 10, 2003, a 6.1 km long section of the bypass between Teschenhagen and the substation junction, the relocated B 194 and the extension of the Grünhufer bend were handed over. This completed 10.8 km of the 16.5 km long bypass. Since the foundation stone was laid in 1997, 120 million euros have been invested in the project.
