Thaao Penghlis
Thaao Penghlis (born December 15, 1945 in Sydney ) is an Australian actor .
Life
Penghlis was born the son of Greek immigrants in Sydney. After graduating from high school, he moved to New York City , where he studied acting with Milton Katselas . From the mid-1970s, he initially had guest roles in television series such as Cannon , Use in Manhattan and Hart aber Herzlich . In 1981 he was cast for the role of Tony DiMera in the soap opera Zeit der Sehnsucht , which he played over 350 times with interruptions until 2009, and for which he was nominated for an Emmy in 2008 . In the meantime he played one in the seriesDouble role as his cousin André. He had other recurring roles in General Hospital and the California Clan .
He gained greater fame in German-speaking countries through his portrayal of Nicholas Black in the new edition of Kobra, take over ( In a secret mission ) in 1988.
