After Maria's little son Oliver dies in an accident in India , the world collapses for her. She even tries suicide. One day she heard of a “magical ritual” during which one could say goodbye to the dead at a temple at night . However, the door to the world of the dead must remain closed. When Maria can actually come into contact with Oliver with this ritual, however, she opens the door full of hope and thereby triggers terrible things.

The reviews were average to negative, so the Cinema complained that the film was trite and caused yawning boredom in front of an exotic backdrop. Frank Schnelle from the film website Filmstarts criticized the fact that the story lacks originality and logic, but that the film can score with its atmosphere and exoticism. The Internet platform Rotten Tomatoes recorded only 11 positive (37%) of 30 reviews evaluated.
