The Talk is an entertainment show on CBS that began airing October 18, 2010. The show consists of three parts: headlines are discussed with the audience, a guide for mothers and interviews with celebrities. The show is under construction very much the television show The View radio station ABC similar. The Talk will be moderated by Julie Chen , Sara Gilbert , Sharon Osbourne , Sheryl Underwood , Aisha Tyler . The show is being recorded at CBS Studios, California (Studio City). In December 2013, the show was extended to 2017.

In December 2009, CBS decided to discontinue the longstanding soap opera As the World Turns . Then different pilots were produced in order to look for a successor. These included two talk shows, a game show and a cooking show. In July 2010 it was decided to produce the talk show "The Talk" by Sara Gilbert .

Relay overview

Season 1 (2010-2011)

Season 1 started on October 18, 2010. The show kicked off at 2 p.m. ET and 1 p.m. PT on the American network CBS. The show will be moderated by Julie Chen and co-presenters Sharon Osbourne , Holly Robinson Peete and Leah Remini . Marissa Jaret Winokur also appeared regularly on the show as "Mom on Street". During the summer break it became known that Peete, Remini and Winokur had been fired. This decision met with much criticism from critics and fans of the sacked stars. There were also rumors that Julie Chen was responsible for the firing because she had previously publicly criticized Peete, Remini and Winokur and is married to CBS board member Leslie Moonves. Sharon Osbourne was also on the America's Got Talent jury and was represented by her daughter Kelly Osbourne during filming .

Season 2-4 (2011-2014)

Season 2 started with a new co-host of American comedian Sheryl Underwood , who replaced the released Leah Remini . Holly Robinson Peete's place was taken by Molly Shannon in September and October until the new co-host Aisha Tyler was introduced in November . Starting with Season 2, the talk show travels to New York City twice each season .

The third season started on September 10, 2012. In the first episode, the presenters appeared without make-up and in bathrobes, the studio audience and the guests were also without make-up and in bathrobes. Guests on this show were Jamie Lee Curtis, Michelle Stafford and Melody Thomas Scott (both from The Young and The Restless), Katherine Kelly Lang (from The Bold and the Beautiful).

The show was officially renewed for a 4th season in January 2013.

Season 5–8 (2014–2018)

The eighth season has been running in the USA since October 2017
