Song information

Achilles, Agony and Ecstasy in Eight Parts is a 28 minute and 38 second piece that examines parts of Homer's Iliad . In the foreground is the battle of Achilles against the Trojan Hector . The song was presented entirely live on the 1994 Agony and Ecstasy Tour. The song was created, among other things, in response to the record company's marketing plans that Manowar should incorporate more popular elements into their music.

Metal Warriors is a typical metal anthem. The song is subtitled Brothers of Metal Part 2 , the first part was later released on the follow-up album Louder than Hell .

Spirit Horse of the Cherokee is about the Cherokee Indian people and their fight with the white man in the battle of the Wounded Knee .

Single releases

Metal warriors

Metal Warriors was released as the only single on the album. The CD version contains the B-side Herz Aus Stahl and a live version of Fighting the World . The Japanese version of the single also contains the theme song in a live version. A limited 12-inch picture disc did without the live song.

success

The album entered the charts in Germany at position eight and in 2003 received a gold record for 250,000 copies sold - the third gold record for Manowar after Fighting the World and Kings of Metal .
