Song information

The album begins with Call to Arms , a classic heavy metal song. Followed by Fight for Freedom , which can be related to the terrorist attacks on September 11th, 2001 , but according to the band, it was created completely before this event. Nessun dorma comes from the opera Turandot by Giacomo Puccini . As a tribute to the Italian fans, it was first sung by Eric Adams at the Gods of Metal Festival in Milan before it was recorded in the studio and found its way onto this album. With this piece, the band wanted to show that Eric Adams is an innovative and varied singer who can also penetrate classical operatic areas.

After the shortest Manowar song to date, Valhalla , an instrumental, Swords in the Wind tells the story of a dying warrior whose desire is to come to Valhalla , the resting place of the Vikings who fell in battle .

An American Trilogy is an Elvis - cover song , which the history of the American Civil War tells the first part, "Dixie", the south is dedicated, while the second part, "Battle Hymn of the Republic", the anthem of the North was. The song is rounded off with a prayer for the fallen.

The March can be described as classical music rather than heavy metal and was dedicated to Richard Wagner , the "father of heavy metal" (quote from the booklet).

With Warriors of the World United follows the most famous song from this album, which was released in advance as a single on April 15, 2002. It was presented to a larger audience on April 18 in Stefan Raab's TV program TV total , on which Manowar was a guest. The line of text “ We said we would return and here we are again ” refers to Eric Adams saying “we will return” every concert. completed.
