Thelma Lee

Thelma Lee , born Thelma Laderman ( November 9, 1916 in the Bronx , New York - March 11, 2012 in Mercer Island , Washington ), was an American actress and comedian .

Life

She first appeared in the theater in the late 1930s in Sing Out the News . It wasn't until 1970 that she became active there again, in Minnie's Boys . In 1972 the comedy Fun City followed . From 1976 to 1977 she played Golde in Fiddler on the Roof .

Lee began her comedian career on the comedy series Toast of the Town in the early 1960s.

At the end of the 1970s she became active as an actress in cinema and television productions. In 1979 she worked in Voices of Love on the side of Michael Ontkean and Amy Irving . In the 1980s, her first role was in 1983 in the TV series Männerwirtschaft . That same year she appeared in The King of Comedy with Robert De Niro , Jerry Lewis and Sandra Bernhard .

In the TV movie Izzy & Moe she had the role of "Mrs. Perlman ". In 1988 she starred in the science fiction film You Live With, opposite Meg Foster and Gregory J. Barnett . In 1991 she starred with Ed Begley Jr. , Rif Hutton and Viola Kates Stimpson in the television drama The Story Lady , and in 1994 in the science fiction film Future Shock , which was produced by Bryan Burk .

Lee did guest roles in episodes of Throb (1986), Doogie Howser, MD (1989), Jake and McCabe - Through Thick and Thin (1990), and Top of the Heap in 1991 . In 1990, she starred in Starship Enterprise: The Next Century in a third season episode, Sins of the Father, as the Baldest.

Her last known appearances include the comedy Always Say Goodbye from 1996 and 1998, two episodes of the series The Love Boat: The Next Wave with Phil Morris .

She is the sister of actress and producer Madeline Lee Gilford (1923–2008).
