Themed garden

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A theme garden is a garden on a limited area with a design reference that is based on a certain theme. The content and objects of the themed garden are of a conceptual character and are delimited to a specific topic.

Theme gardens can be part of theme parks , parks , amusement parks or garden shows. For example, a prize has been awarded for the presentation of a theme at the Chelsea Flower Show since 1850. 35 themed gardens were presented at the Leverkusen State Garden Show 2005 .

Larger theme parks are occasionally divided into other "theme areas", e.g. B. "Country areas" are divided, in each of which other topics are dealt with through the creation of characteristic gardens. For example in botanical gardens with their continent and country-specific gardens.

Types of themed gardens

Popular topics focus on a certain genus of plants, e.g. B. Rose Gardens . Others emphasize certain possible uses, such as the vegetable garden , or pursue an educational requirement, e.g. B. Blind Gardens and Bible Gardens . Themed projects such as the “ International Garden ” and “ Gardens without Borders ” are garden projects that focus on concepts of intercultural dialogue .

Depending on the conception of the garden project, there are different orientations of the themed garden (selection):
