The Theodor-Heuss-Gymnasium Hagen (THG) is a municipal high school in Hagen (Westphalia).

history

The Theodor-Heuss-Gymnasium was founded in 1965. At that time it split off from the Fichte-Gymnasium Hagen .

Right from the start, the grammar school focused on mathematics and science. In addition, the school is traditionally closely linked to sports, especially basketball . Several THG students made a career as basketball players in the Bundesliga or even became national players. In 2018, the high school, which is known as the “partner school for competitive sports”, signed a cooperation agreement with the Phoenix Hagen professional team to promote the next generation of basketball players.

Current

The Theodor-Heuss-Gymnasium is currently attended by around 700 students. These are taught by around 50 teachers. The current headmaster is Sven Meyhoefer; deputy headmaster is Hermann Kruse.

There is currently an upper level cooperation between the THG and the Albrecht-Dürer-Gymnasium in Hagen .

The Theodor-Heuss-Gymnasium has been a cooperation school of the Association of German Scientists (VDW) since 2012 . The THG was certified and awarded several times as part of the “School of the Future - Education for Sustainability” campaign.
