Oliver Herkelmann (born August 21, 1968 in Hagen ) is a former German basketball player .

Life

Herkelmann attended the Theodor-Heuss-Gymnasium in Hagen until 1988. He then studied at the George Mason University and played in the Patriots team at this university until 1991 . From 1992 he was in the basketball league until 1999 with Brandt Hagen and then from 1999 to 2001 in Trier . In 1994 he was first with Brandt and in 2001 with HERZOGtel Trier cup winner . During this time, Herkelmann also played 24 games for the German national basketball team . In December 2001 Herkelmann left Trier and initially played for three games for the Belgian club Estaimpuis from Tournai , but shortly afterwards he returned to the BBL for a game in the shirt of TSK Bamberg. The following season 2002/2003 he then played in the 2nd basketball league with the promoted team from Iserlohn , then again in 2004 in Hagen near Phoenix, which had emerged from the BG Hagen. In the 2004/2005 season he rose with the Hertener Löwen from the regional league to the second division, but left the club again in the direction of his hometown. From 2005 onwards he worked there as managing director after his playing career and rose with the club in 2009 to the BBL. At the end of February 2016, he left Phoenix Hagen as Managing Director. Later he worked for the advertising agency WAK, in 2018 he won the German basketball championship in the age group over 50 with SG Boele-Kabel / Telgte, after becoming German over 35 champions in 2010 and 2014 with VFK Hagen.
