Theodor Leutwein (District Administrator)

Theodor Emanuel Leutwein (born May 3, 1879 in Dietlingen , † June 11, 1940 in Achern ) was a German administrative officer.

Life

Born the son of a pastor, Theodor Leutwein studied law at the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg and the Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg from 1897 to 1901 after attending the grammar school in Pforzheim . In 1899 he became a member of the Corps Suevia Heidelberg . In 1901 he passed the 1st legal exam. In 1902 he was promoted to Dr. jur. PhD. As a legal intern he was from 1901 to 1905 at the District Court Emmendingen , Karlsruhe District Court , the prosecution Freiburg and the district office Schopfheim worked and was in 1905 the second legal test. From 1905 to 1907 he was a trainee and from 1907 to 1908 a government assessor in Freiburg . From 1908 to 1909 he attended the Hamburg Colonial Institute . From 1909 to 1912 he worked as a legal assistant at the Lüderitzbucht district office . In 1912 he returned to Baden and was government assessor in Wiesloch and Mannheim until 1914 . Appointed bailiff at the Donaueschingen district office in 1914, he took part in the First World War as a soldier from 1914 to 1917 . In 1918 he was a civil servant at the police headquarters in Bruges . From 1918 to 1920 he was a councilor in the Baden Ministry of the Interior in Karlsruhe, where he represented the administrative board of the Donaueschingen district office from 1918 to 1919. From 1920 to 1922 he was a clerk at the Freiburg district office and from 1922 to 1928 police director in Pforzheim. From 1928 to 1935 he was district administrator in Wolfach . In 1935 he retired.
