Thesdorf

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Thesdorf is a district of the Holstein town of Pinneberg in the Pinneberg district in the state of Schleswig-Holstein .

history

The former farming village of Thesdorf was an independent municipality until it was incorporated into Pinneberg with 1,148 hectares in 1927. Extensive construction work between around 1965 and 1975 made it a densely populated Pinneberg district. Thesdorf borders in the east on the municipalities of Rellingen and Halstenbek and in the west on the Pinneberg districts Zentrum, Quellental and Eggerstedt .

Townscape

In the center of the village there is now a high-rise complex with a small shopping center right at the Thesdorf S-Bahn station . Today, almost nothing of the historic Thesdorf is recognizable due to the development of the 1960s and 1970s. The district has a primary school and a community school (Johan Comenius School). The indoor swimming pool of the city of Pinneberg, a water ski facility and the German Tree Nursery Museum are also located in Thesdorf. The Düpenau runs east of Thesdorf and flows a little further north into the Mühlenau .

A striking ensemble of buildings on the road to Rellingen is the K&S senior citizens' residence Pinneberg - Gut Thesdorf in a former mansion with a portico lined with columns. However, the building cannot be visited.

With the connection point Pinneberg-Süd, Thesdorf has a direct connection to the federal highway 23 .

railway station

The S-Bahn station Thesdorf (station abbreviation: ATHS) was opened on September 23, 1967. It can be reached from the Thesdorfer Weg bridge that crosses the railway line via a pedestrian staircase and an elevator. The barrier-free access was implemented in 2012 as part of the Federal Government's economic stimulus package II by Deutsche Bahn and its subsidiary, the Hamburg S-Bahn Group. Until then, the stop could only be reached via the concrete stairs built in 1967. The station building at the beginning of the central platform still has the original yellow and lime green tiles. In addition to two ticket machines, it now houses a small kiosk. The former ticket sales point and the holes in the floor of the access barriers to the platform area where tickets are required can still be seen.

The stop itself consists of a central platform. On the northern side the S-Bahn trains of the S3 line in the direction of Pinneberg stop , on the southern side the trains of the S3 line to Hamburg-Altona , Hauptbahnhof, Harburg , Buxtehude and Stade .
