Thomas Mørk (born September 28, 1962 in Copenhagen ) is a Danish actor , comedian , voice actor and director .

Career

After graduating from the Copenhagen State Theater School in 1987, Mørk tried his hand at both film and television and as a stage actor. Since both his choice of roles and the response to the films in which he starred were manageable, he concentrated more on solo projects and his theater career. As early as 1987 he was able to play at the Det Kongelige Teater , the royal state theater, and since then has had a considerable repertoire of well-known and major leading roles. He played major, if not the leading roles in works by Schiller , Ibsen and Shaffers . For example, he was allowed to play Adolf Hitler in Taboris Mein Kampf . In the following years he stayed with the theater and did not only work on the stage. So he worked a novel Die Kreutzersonata by Tolstoy into a chamber play that celebrated its premiere in 1997. He won several prizes for his highly acclaimed performances, such as the Årets Revykunstner cabaret award , which he received in 1999. In 2005 he took up the challenge of making his debut as a theater director with Nissebanden - En Julemusical , a Christmas special . With En smule stilhed før stormen he played in a contemporary work by Theresia Walser , which was translated from German into Danish. Most recently he was u. a. seen in 3 små mænd .

Since his film career was still not going as expected, Mørk also tried his hand at dubbing . He had his first speaking role in 1993 with Den sidste røde stjerne . After further synchronizations such as in Ballads om Holger Danske and How Kater Zorbas taught the little seagull to fly , the first animated films followed , which had to be translated into Danish , including commercially successful films such as The Big Crawling , Meet the Robinsons and Monsters vs. Aliens .

Parallel to his careers as a theater actor and voice actor, he toured regularly with the actor Niels Olsen as Cirkus Montebello through Denmark. Both met in 1985 and were initially little street artists who earned their studies by performing smaller pieces. Success came over the years and after several tours and TV specials like 30 min. med Cirkus Montebello (2003) and Niels Olsen og Thomas Mørk (2010) they are national greats in the Danish comedy industry.

Despite these great successes as a stage actor, voice actor and comedian, his film career remained rather meaningless. He wasn't involved in a large project and his films were rarely published outside of Scandinavia . With chronicles and Hannah med H , a Swedish production, his best known works are circumscribed, where he played only in the latter a major role.

Life

In autumn 2010 it was announced that he was divorcing his second wife, the psychologist Lene Christensen Kamm. Both had been together since 2005 and married since 2006. There were no children from the marriage. Mørk himself has two children, Martha and August, from a previous relationship. As early as 2008 it became known that a previous relationship with the former Danish TV presenter Isabella Miehe-Renard failed because of her depression and suicidal thoughts.
