Thomas Meyer (association official)

Thomas Meyer (born October 10, 1955 in Hanover ) is a German entrepreneur and has been President of the Wuppertal-Solingen-Remscheid Chamber of Commerce and Industry since 2013 .

Education and professional activities

During his military service he completed a degree in mechanical engineering and then became a technical officer in the Federal Ministry of Defense . Following his postgraduate studies in economics at the University of Cologne , Meyer worked for Barmag AG in Remscheid, among other things as Head of Marketing and Managing Director. After taking over the management of a textile machinery construction company, he has been a managing partner of the TKM Group since 1993 .

On November 4, 2016 he was elected Vice President of the IHK NRW and is a member of the board of the German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DIHK) in Berlin. On January 19, 2018, he was elected President of the Regional Association of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Private

He lives in Solingen with his wife and daughter .
