Thomas Pohl

Thomas Michael Gerhard Pohl (born November 7, 1967 in Munich ) is a German actor and theater director .

Life

As a child and adolescent, Pohl was a speaker for radio plays by Willy Semmelrogge and Wolf Euba at Bayerischer Rundfunk from 1977 to 1987 . He also worked as a voice actor for Bavaria in films and series such as Die Bären sind los! , The Coast Pilots , A Slice of Heaven , La Boum - Die Fete and Nils Holgersson . In 1987 he passed the Abitur at the Fürstenried-West grammar school . This was followed by acting training at the Elisabethbühne in Salzburg from 1987 to 1990 and, in May 1990, a diploma examination before the Joint Commission in Munich. In the spring of 1991 he played with Erich Kästner '91: Despite everything in the studio theater at PEP in Munich with Antoinette Wosien and Ari Mog. Since 1991 he has worked in Linz at the Landestheater , at the Phönix Theater , at the Children's Theater , as well as in summer theater productions in Kirchberg, Enns and in Schwanenstadt with His Majesty's players and in Helfenberg .

Since 1993 Pohl has been a founding member of the music cabaret group Die NIeDERTRäCHTIGEN with 600 appearances in German-speaking Germany and abroad. Since 1998 he has been working as a theater teacher at pro mente Upper Austria . From 2003 to 2007 he was a guest at the Linzer u \ hof with 240 performances of Klamm's War (production: Heidelinde Leutgöb ) in Upper Austria's higher schools. From 2005 to 2010 he was head of the youth play club at the Linz State Theater and from 2009 to 2010 of the youth play group at the Phönix Theater. From 2007 to 2008 he played “Ich bin Gott” (monologue by Wilfried Weilandt and Harald Ehrengruber) in Linz and Vienna. From 2008 to 2013, Pohl was a member of the Linz City Cultural Council, four years of which as chairman.

Since 1991 Pohl has been organizing workshops with students, moderating and reading, and taking part in radio, television and advertising productions. He has been a reading mentor for buk since 2010.

In 2017 he played the man with the slide projector , Inspector Cluzot and death in A Midsummer Night's Dream or Bathtub Handles in the Price Comparison by Kurt Palm at the Phönix Theater . This production was nominated for the Nestroy Prize 2017 in the category Best Federal State Performance.
