Thomas Reimer (born September 1, 1967 in Hamburg ) is a German video designer .

life and work

After training as a television technician , Reimer turned his hobby - video design and graphic design - into a profession. Since then he has worked on theater, TV and DVD productions. He began with camera and editing for the nationwide series of concerts for the TV Today Band Award and then for recordings of ballets by John Neumeier : Nijinsky at the Hamburg State Opera , recorded for Bavarian Broadcasting , and Illusions - such as Swan Lake for SWR and an international one DVD release. With John Neumeier's Winterreise (2001) Reimer gained his first experience in the field of stage design . For WDR he produced the filmed symphonies Jean Sibelius & Alvar Aalto , Finland - An Architectural Winter Tale and Edvard Grieg - The Story of Life . Films like Shalom Hamburg , training films for the German Air Rescue Service and some music video clips also bear his signature. He realized the TV and DVD productions of the musicals Miami Nights (WDR), Robin Hood and Beauty and the Beast .

Since 2008 he has been working closely with the director Harry Kupfer and the set designer Hans Schavernoch for various opera and musical productions, including the successful Viennese production Elisabeth .
