Thunder Bike is a German motorcycle manufacturer to Chopper -Sonderanfertigungen ( custom bikes has specialized) and accessories manufacturers. The company is also an authorized dealer for the Harley-Davidson motorcycle brand and online mail order business for motorcycle accessories and clothing .
history
The company Thunderbike was founded under the name Motorradschuppen in Hamminkeln in 1985 and initially specialized in sports motorcycles from Japanese manufacturers. In 1987 the company became an authorized dealer for the Suzuki brand and has been a tuner for this brand ever since .
Between 1987 and 2001 Thunderbike was increasingly active in European racing and won various titles in the German endurance championship. Already at this time the brand name "Thunderbike by Motorradschuppen" was created, although it was still mostly used for Japanese choppers and streetfighter conversions.
In 2006 Thunderbike became a Harley-Davidson authorized dealer for the Niederrhein region and also switched the product range even further to the new manufacturer. In the same year Thunderbike took 2nd place in the world championship in custom bike construction.
In 2009 the company opened an American Roadhouse , which was inaugurated on the company 's 25th anniversary with a bike show with presenter Ralf Richter and a concert by The Boss Hoss band . In 2012 the company opened an online mail order business for motorcycle accessories and clothing.
On August 8, 2012, Thunderbike became world champion in custom bike construction with the motorcycle "PainTTless", a cafe racer with a Harley-Davidson Ironhead engine that cost more than € 150,000 . Thunderbike qualified for the event in Sturgis by winning the Ridein bike show at the European Bike Week in Faak 2010.
Jokerfest
The Jokerfest is an annual biker meeting followed by an open air rock concert on the Thunderbike company premises, which has been taking place on a June weekend since 2000. The bands of recent years include Slade , Uriah Heep , Manfred Mann's Earth Band , Suzi Quatro , The BossHoss , Guano Apes , Leningrad Cowboys , The Hooters , Doro Pesch , Status Quo and The Baseballs . The daily program also includes an international bike show at which professional custom bike manufacturers and private converters exhibit their motorcycles and have them assessed by a jury.
