Tiago Volpi (born December 19, 1990 in Blumenau , Santa Catarina ) is a Brazilian soccer player on the position of goalkeeper .

career

Volpi spent his first professional years at EC São José and in the meantime also played on loan for the Luverdense EC .

While he only played in less important tournaments for these clubs, he came to the top division of Brazil for the first time for his next club Figueirense FC and won the national championship of Santa Catarina with him in 2014 .

In January 2015, Volpi moved to the Mexican league for Querétaro FC , with whom he immediately reached the finals of the Mexican soccer championship in the 2015 Clausura (and for the first time in the history of the club!) . After the first leg at Santos Laguna was lost 5-0, the second leg at home at Estadio La Corregidora seemed to be meaningless. But at the break, the Gallos Blancos were 3-0 ahead as their opponent Santos Laguna in the first leg. Because there were no more hits in the second half, Querétaro had to be content with the runner-up.

Their next strong tournament was the Apertura 2016 of the Mexican Cup competition , when the Gallos Blancos were also able to advance to the final and enjoyed home rights. Opponent was Mexico's most popular club, Chivas Guadalajara , which recently had barely any sporting successes but was able to qualify for the final three times in the last four cup tournaments. In the final between Querétaro and Guadalajara, Volpi was the “match winner” of his team, which he saved with several brilliant saves up to the penalty shoot-out . This was won 3: 2, whereby Volpi not only parried two shots (the post saved once), but also converted a penalty himself. It was the first major title in the history of the Gallos Blancos .

On December 23, 2018 it was announced that Volpi was returning to his homeland. He was loaned to São Paulo FC until the end of 2019 .
