Tihamér Győrfy (born April 1, 1997 ) is a Romanian ice hockey player who has been playing for HSC Csíkszereda in the multinational MOL league and the Hungarian U20 league since 2017 .
Career
Club
Tihamer Győrfy, who belongs to the Hungarian-speaking Szekler minority in Romania , began his career at CS Progym Gheorgheni , for whom he made his debut in the Romanian ice hockey league at the age of 15 . From 2013 to 2016 he played at Miskolci Jegesmedvék JSE , which, in addition to playing in his youth teams , also used him in the MOL league from 2014 . In 2016, he won the MOL League championship with the Eisbären from Miskolc and thus the Hungarian championship title as the best-placed Hungarian team in the league . In the 2015/16 season he was also used for the Debrecen-Miskolce Select syndicate in the multinational U20 competition EBYSL .
Since December 2016 he has been on the ice with the partner team Debreceni HK, mostly in the MOL league. The following season he joined the HSC Csíkszereda , the traditional club of the Szeklers from Miercurea Ciuc , with which he won the Romanian championship and the Romanian cup competition in 2018 .
International
Győrfy plays internationally in contrast to other Szeklers who compete for Hungary , for his native Romania . In the junior division, he took part in the U18 World Championships in 2013 , 2014 and 2015 , when he was voted the best defender of the tournament, as well as the U20 World Championships in 2013 , 2015 , 2016 and 2017 in Division II. He also represented Romania at the European Youth Olympic Festival 2013 in Brașov ,
Győrfy made his debut in the men's national team at the 2017 World Cup in Division II when the Romanians were promoted to Division I. There he played at the 2018 .
