The Tikhiy Don ( Russian Тихий Дон , dt. " The silent Don ") is a river cruise ship that was built in 1977 in the GDR on the VEB Elbe shipyards Boizenburg / Roßlau and for the Vladimir Ilyich class , German name - BiFa 125М (Inland passenger ship 125 meters) - heard. Hull number: 330. The ship was named after the novel by the Soviet writer Mikhail Scholochow - The silent Don.
After the collapse of the Soviet Union , the Tikhiy Don served as a hotel ship in Saßnitz from 1992 to 2001 (after February 2, 1993 Sassnitz) before being bought by a US shipping company and modernized and rebuilt in Romania in 2005. The 4-star swimming hotel was the largest, the newest and, in terms of propulsion, the quietest river cruise ship in Samara . 2005-2016 and Tikhiy Don was used by Grand Circle Cruise Line ( USA ) on the Volga , Volga-Balt and Neva on the cruise route Saint Petersburg - Mandrogi - Kizhi - Gorizy - Uglich - Moscow . The home port has been Rostov-on-Don since 2016 .

The 110 cabins of the half-de-luxe class are equipped with shower, toilet, refrigerator and satellite TV. On board are a restaurant, two bars and an event room.
