Timothy Yu Gyoung-chon ( kor. 유경 촌 , born September 4, 1962 in Jung-gu , South Korea ) is auxiliary bishop in Seoul .

Life

Timothy Yu Gyoung-chon studied Catholic theology and philosophy at the Catholic University of Korea in Seoul from 1981 to 1987 . Yu earned a baccalaureate in Catholic theology. He continued his studies at the Julius Maximilians University of Würzburg , where he obtained his degree in Catholic theology in 1992 . Timothy Yu Gyoung-chon received the sacrament of ordination for the Archdiocese of Seoul on January 30, 1992 .

1998 Yu was at the Theological Philosophy University Sankt Georgen in Frankfurt specialist Christian social ethics PhD (Title of dissertation: Yu, Timothy: A global environmental movement - The churches in the conciliar process? ). In 1999 he was vicar in Mok-dong for a few months . From 1999 to 2008 Timothy Yu Gyoung-chon was a professor at the Catholic University of Korea in Seoul. In 2008, Yu became director of the Integral Pastoral Center of the Archdiocese of Seoul and pastor in Myeongil-dong .

On 30 December 2013 it appointed Pope Francis to the titular bishop of Puppi and ordered him auxiliary bishop in Seoul.
